Task requirementsExpected to commit to around 46 Reserve Service Days in total, per year. Typically, this would be split between the Annual Deployment Exercise (up to 14 days) or a short-term deployment, four-day training weekends, virtual drill nights and specific training modules.

Essential competenciesThe Ranger Reserve is open to all Army Reservists who are fit and demonstrate the KSE and behaviours required.
All applicants MUST have previously passed the 11-day Ranger Assessment Cadre (RAC) to join the Ranger Reserve by applying for this role.
You can find out details about what’s involved in the RAC on the Ranger Regt Defence Connect Pages and by attending the Reserve RAC Screening weekend.
Reservists cannot apply directly for the RAC without first attending a Reserve Ranger Assessment Cadre Screening (RRS) weekend.
