The Heritage Group (THG) is partnering with Orr Fellowship in the hiring of an early career individual for its Strategic Technology Development Rotational Program, where the Fellow will complete three eight-month-long rotations. The first rotation is expected to be with the Strategy group at THG.The AI / Technology Strategy Fellow will join a small group of cross-THG employees contributing to the evolution of our businesses through technology and AI. The role will have diverse responsibilities, including supporting the identification, evaluation, and implementation of AI and emerging technology solutions across THG's operating companies and corporate functions, as well as our portfolio of strategic investments. This role leverages capabilities in machine learning, software engineering, advanced data analytics, and other technologies to support cross-functional projects driving THG's foundational data and technology strategic priorities. This role will combine strategic analysis with hands-on technical execution to enable our employees to better utilize technology across roles, help operating companies respond to competitive threats, capture growth opportunities, and build sustainable technological capabilities. The Fellow could contribute to projects like the development and maintenance of process automation, predictive models, custom GPTs, digital transformation, and agentic workflows. The Fellow will be expected to help communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, develop prototypes to validate strategic hypotheses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support execution. In this role, the Fellow will gain deep exposure to diverse industrial operations (e.g., environmental services, building materials, construction) while developing capabilities in applying emerging technologies to traditional industries. The role is expected to contribute to improved technical capabilities at THG, accelerate adoption of new technology, and support foundational data / AI strategic goals across THG. Essential Functions

• Support strategic technology assessments across THG operating companies, analyzing competitive AI investments, identifying capability gaps, and contributing to recommendations for technology-enabled growth and efficiency opportunities
• Help build and deploy technical prototypes including automation tools, predictive models, and proof-of-concept applications that validate strategic hypotheses and demonstrate value to operating companies
• Support cross-functional project teams working on foundational technology initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders, coordinating implementation activities, and ensuring delivery against defined milestones
• Collaborate with strategy team to develop frameworks and analyses that help communicate technical topics into clear business cases, presenting findings and recommendations to the Strategy / Finance team and company leadership
• Monitor external technology trends by tracking competitor investments, emerging capabilities, and industry best practices in AI and automation, synthesizing insights to inform THG's strategic response
• Collaborate with operating company teams to understand operational pain points, identify high-value use cases for technology intervention, and design solutions that balance technical feasibility with business impact
