About the role

OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is currently in need of a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our fast-growing team at our Nashville HQ. Technical Program Managers rely on their mastery of data and business to understand and anticipate business requirements, initiate programs, track progress, and manage any issues that arise during and after the program completion. As an ideal candidate you possess sufficient technical expertise to communicate business requirements in technical vernacular to engineers and help resolve business blockers. You will be a critical contributor to building the foundational culture of our new headquarters.

TPMs track technical issues, effectively communicate project status, recommend changes, decide tradeoffs for competing priorities, and demonstrate ‘act now and iterate’.  They define strategies, regularly participate in executive meetings to present their progress, share project information with stakeholders, and drive business growth through data-driven decision making. In addition, this specific role requires a passion for solving high-impact problems and the ability to start programs from scratch and scale them.

The successful candidate will be well organized and metrics-driven, showing strong initiative and thriving in fast-paced and constantly changing environments.  This role will support the Products, Industries and Partnerships organization in OCI. This role will focus on Oracle Global External Standards function, the Java Community Process and Community Team.

 

This team is targeting candidates in the U.S. who can work ONSITE in Nashville-TN (priority location). Relocation Assistance provided. (This is not a remote position)

Responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Define critical project scope, plans, and drive cross-org project execution within and outside of Product & Industries business units.
  • Work with executive leaders, product owners, and engineers across Oracle business units to identify and analyze relevant industry and customer data to develop information that influences OCI’s strategic approach.
  • Develop methodology and success measurement criteria for measuring program performance and operational excellence.
  • Provide programmatic leadership of cross-functional teams.
  • Define, develop, and implement standardized business processes and best practices for OCI Products, Industries and Partnerships organization.
  • Lead strategic growth for these functions and drive collaboration.
  • Lead internal Standards cross functional teams.
  • Create videos, presentations, demos, hackathon materials.
  • Develop Community Outreach strategic plans and execute on them.
  • Reach out to technical contacts for developer relations efforts.
  • Communications - video, blogs, social media strategies to scale.
  • Broad based individual.
  • Internal and external campaigns and working group leadership.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of technical program management experience in related field.
  • Highly skilled with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong ability to write concise proposal documents.
  • Ability to work in ambiguity, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and development/engineering staff at all levels including the executive level. 
  • This is an in-person role at Oracle’s Nashville headquarters

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure services.
  • Experience with cloud software and platform services.
  • MySQL and Java experience. In Education outreach
  • Ability to think broadly and strategically.
  • Highly analytical, technically proficient, and able to learn new tools and software quickly.
  • Experience using agile software development practices and associated tooling.
  • Video production and editing experience a plus - Adobe Creative Suite, Aftereffect, Adobe Premier, Streaming expertise, production, technical cinematography, media studio experience, 
  • Development experience - Java experience, Linux, database experience.
