A Senior Staff Software Engineer is responsible for the addition of new configurable product lines to our CPQ system and maintenance of existing configurable product lines. You will work with the R&D, Marketing, Production, and Field-based project teams to gather requirements for the quoting logic that you will then translate into CPQ rules, constraints, user interface elements, Sales BOMs, and Manufacturing BOMs which guide Sales Representatives, Customer Support teams, and Production teams to sell and produce products that reflect the marketing intent and the engineering rules which have been released. The Senior Staff Software Engineer will also use his or her production configuration experience and expertise to play an integral role in defining the global Configure-to-Order architecture collaborating with a global, cross-divisional, and cross-functional project team.

What You Will Do
Responsibilities:
- Requirements gathering, development, testing, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of Oracle CPQ Product Configuration, Commerce, Document Designer, and Pricing Functions focusing on the addition of new product lines to an existing Oracle CPQ Cloud implementation
- Update existing and creates new SAP Variant Configurations to generate accurate manufacturing bills of materials
- Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for end-user support cases related to Oracle CPQ and SAP Variant Configurator manufacturing bill of material rules
- Revise existing Oracle CPQ Cloud implementation to function with upcoming Oracle CPQ Cloud version upgrades
- Consult with Sales, Marketing, Production, and R&D Project managers on specific product line needs.
- Build a strong understanding of the Communications Business Unit product lines and commercial processes (including sales, marketing, and other associated functions) and apply this understanding to Oracle CPQ development.
- Work with internal IT Groups and external consultants on defining system enhancements
- Perform research on software solutions to meet product commercialization goals
- Participate in product design meetings and reviews
- Develop product configuration prototypes
- Lead in the analysis of software requirements
- Lead the architecture design of the addition of new product lines to Oracle CPQ
- Prepare documents to meet project, regulatory, and IT change processes
- Provide technical direction and feasibility as required for projects
- Provide input to other departments for appropriate training on systems and product configurations
- Training and mentoring of staff system engineers and other teams such as operations, installation, and project engineering.
- Design software features of moderate to high complexity
- Support software integration features with CPQ, CRM, commercial ERP, and manufacturing ERP systems
- Participate in the verification and validation of software solutions, including the preparation and execution of test scripts
- Provide inputs into development time estimates regarding own deliverables, and deliverables assigned to others
- Enhance global relationships to find efficient implementation strategies, share knowledge, and cross-train on commercial systems
- Track own project progress and report status, issues, and roadblocks to the responsible R&D project manager for a new product launch
- Monitor the progress of staff system engineers
- Remain up-to-date on the latest software development technologies and methodologies.
- Shares industry best practices around Configure-to-Order system and business processes
- Drive continuous process improvement activities and initiatives
- Has the independence and authority to perform required tasks to ensure all provisions of the quality system are met
- Performs other tasks needed to achieve goals and objectives of the position, department, and company
What You Need
Minimum Skills/Experience (Required):
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience developing CPQ solutions in Oracle CPQ (BigMachines)
- Strong Oracle CPQ BML and BMQL skills. C++, Java Scripting, HTML/XHTML, and SQL skills
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in the areas of
