The Pre-Analytics Processing Technician is responsible for manually processing laboratory specimens, performing daily quality assurance activities, and maintaining equipment. As a part of the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus team, you will have numerous opportunities to explore educational development courses, advance the Professional Ladder and utilize comprehensive benefits that invest in your health and overall well-being.
A caregiver in this position works nights + calls| 11:00pm—7:30am.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Receive and accession specimens into the LIS (Lab Information System).
Prepare specimens for analysis.
Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting, and routine maintenance), problem-solving functions, and issue resolution.
Assume compliance with basic regulations (temperature monitoring).
Perform QA activities (pending log audit).
Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens and verify receipts in the lab.
Perform basic clerical functions (i.e., answering phones).
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED and one year of lab experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate's degree, preferably in a science related field (this may substitute the one year of experience needed above)
Strong organizational and time management skills
