Job Description

The HR Onboarding Specialist is responsible for managing and executing the end-to-end onboarding experience, from pre-employment through post-hire. This role serves as a key point of contact for new hires, hiring managers, and business partners, ensuring a seamless, compliant, and high-quality transition into the organization.

The HR Onboarding Specialist partners closely with Line of Business leaders, Human Resources, and Risk teams to deliver a consistent and engaging onboarding experience that supports employee success from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the onboarding lifecycle, including pre-hire requirements, offer acceptance transition, and new hire integration
  • Serve as a primary liaison for new hires and managers, providing guidance, timely communication, and issue resolution
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of onboarding documentation, background processes, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with HR, Risk, and business stakeholders to address onboarding needs, resolve escalations, and maintain alignment with policies and procedures
  • Monitor onboarding progress and proactively identify and resolve delays, risks, or gaps in the process
  • Deliver a high-touch, customer-focused onboarding experience that promotes engagement and retention
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to enhancements in onboarding workflows, tools, and communications
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information, including personal, compensation, and benefits data

  • Identifies opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance the overall onboarding experience

-Technical & Functional Knowledge

  • Experience with HR systems (e.g., Workday) and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and manage data to support onboarding processes

  • Foundational knowledge of HR functions, including recruitment, payroll, and benefits

-Confidentiality & Integrity

  • Maintains the highest level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information

Location Requirement

This role follows a hybrid work model and requires working from a designated U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
