Job Summary

The Data Quality Lead will play a key role in shaping and implementing Key's Data Quality program. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Data Quality within the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), this role will define, implement, and manage core Data Quality capabilities aligned with the Enterprise Data Quality Framework. This includes prioritization, coverage, tooling, monitoring, defect management, and measurement to foster a data-driven culture grounded in Data Trust. This role is accountable for leading key components of the program, developing and executing the framework, and implementing sustainable processes and tools for enterprise-wide Data Quality Management. Key's Enterprise Data Quality program is a strategic function providing the foundation for Data Trust across all organizational and Data Governance functions, teams, and data uses (regulatory, analytics, AI, reporting, etc.). The ideal candidate is a passionate data advocate with a strong understanding of data quality principles, tools, and best practices.

A successful candidate for this role will utilize their data quality and data management experience, technical experience, business acumen, delivery, and leadership skills to lead core components of the Data Quality Framework through design, development, and implementation.  This role will require the development of partnerships with functional leaders to align capabilities and roadmaps across business and EDAS goals.

Responsibilities

  • Data Quality Strategy & Planning: Help develop and execute the overall data quality strategy, aligning with business objectives and data governance frameworks
  • Data Quality Framework Implementation: Help develop and implement a comprehensive data quality framework, including metrics, methodologies, and tools
  • Data Quality Standards Definition: Establish and enforce data quality standards, guidelines, and best practices
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Elicit and analyze data quality requirements from business stakeholders, translating them into actionable rules and standards
  • Data Quality Assessments & Audits: Conduct regular data quality assessments and audits to identify issues and areas for improvement
  • Data Quality Monitoring & Reporting: Establish and maintain data quality monitoring processes, generating reports and dashboards to track key metrics and trends
  • Data Quality Issue Resolution: Collaborate with data owners, custodians, and other stakeholders to address data quality issues
  • Data Quality Tool Evaluation & Implementation: Evaluate and implement data quality tools and technologies
  • Documentation & Standards: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data quality processes, standards, and procedures
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication: Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote the data quality function and associated service offerings.  Supports a culture of collaboration and implements methods for people to come together to make decisions, solve problems, and develop products/service; establishes shared goals to foster collaboration and ensures everyone can access the same information and provide input
  • Training & Advocacy: Develop and deliver training programs to promote data quality awareness and best practices
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Data Evangelist: Be a catalyst for driving culture focused on awareness of Data Management practices & metadata strategies covering Data Inventory, Data Catalog, Data Quality and Data Lineage

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably in Banking or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience establishing, operationalizing, and continuously improving enterprise data quality programs
  • Deep understanding of data governance frameworks and practices (e.g., DCAM)
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner (or similar role) managing enterprise data quality programs or assets, including Agile methodologies and backlog management
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior staff
  • Ability to lead initiatives within and across teams
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, and regulatory requirements, particularly regarding data quality coverage and monitoring of sensitive and critical data
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data quality assessment skills
