Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

Summary:  The primary role of the Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager is to develop and execute comprehensive purchasing and sourcing strategies that align with the organization’s operational and financial goals.

This role leads sourcing initiatives, supplier relationship management, contract negotiations, and cost reduction strategies while ensuring the timely procurement of quality materials. The Manager will play a key role in identifying supply chain efficiencies and supporting the company’s growth and innovation objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

The duties for this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead, develop, and implement a strategic sourcing plan for all ingredients and packaging materials for TFP East, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and supplier reliability.
• Manage and cultivate supplier relationships, ensuring performance, compliance, and alignment with company standards, including kosher, organic, and other regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and capabilities based on pricing, quality, service, production capacity, and long-term partnership potential.
• Continuously identify and qualify new suppliers to support innovation, improve pricing, and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Monitor market trends, raw material forecasts, and commodity pricing to support proactive purchasing decisions.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels to meet production needs without overstocking; actively reduce excess, obsolete, and expired inventory.
• Partner closely with R&D, Production, and Quality teams to source and introduce new materials, ensuring timely support of product development and launches.
• Oversee the preparation and approval of purchase orders, bids, and requisitions, ensuring alignment with budget and procurement policy.
• Manage ERP system inputs for purchasing, including issuing receiving tickets and verifying inventory data accuracy.
• Collaborate with Inventory Control and Operations to ensure food safety, inventory accuracy, and optimal supply chain performance.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of three direct reports, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of purchasing or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost reduction.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to analyze complex data, resolve conflicts, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong understanding of food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and sustainability practices.
