About the role

Our Banquet Server plays a vital role in providing excellent service! You'll be instrumental in preparing, serving, and dismantling catered functions, ensuring impeccable presentation and guest satisfaction. From meticulously setting tables to responsibly serving beverages, your efficiency and attention to detail will be key to our success. The Banquet Server will also serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with Federal, State, Local, and DMNS regulations.

Job Class: Part Time, Episodic
Hiring Range: $21/hour 
Work Schedule: Varies

Essential Duties

  • Provides a friendly and professional atmosphere for guests.
  • Is attentive to guest’s needs and requests.
  • Works in a team atmosphere with other servers to provide the highest quality service.
  • Provides service that meets or exceeds museum standards.
  • Performs proper serving etiquette.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures as set forth in Server Training Manual.
  • Assists with set-up of room per diagram with appropriate, tables, chairs, tablecloths and table wares.
  • At close of event, performs proper breakdown as assigned by the Banquet Captain with equipment returned to the appropriate and designated storage area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Office: Moderate noise (business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
  • Standing or walking up to 8 hours in a shift.
  • Lifting requirements: Medium physical effort required by handling up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • High volume production kitchen. Can be hot, cold, humid and/or slippery.
  • Strenuous physical activities like moving tables, chairs and clearing dirty dishes.
  • May require frequent walking, up and down stairs during set-up and during events.
  • Able to work and maintain: fans, boilers, fryer, chillers, slicers, ovens, food prep equipment.
