<p><b>Join us today and make a difference in people's lives!</b><br/> </p><p></p><p><b><span>Senior Software Test Engineer (m/f/d)</span></b></p><p></p><p><b><span>Position Summary</span></b></p><p><span>We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated <b>Senior Software Test Engineer </b>to lead and manage the embedded software test activities for critical medical devices, including <b>Heart-Lung Machines</b> and other life-saving systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of test strategies to ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of our embedded software products. You will play an essential role in building and scaling the <b>test infrastructure</b>, focusing on <b>Manual/Automated Integration Tests</b>.</span></p><p><span>The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for quality assurance in the embedded software domain, and a deep understanding of the <b>medical device software regulatory environment</b>, including <b>IEC 62304</b>.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>General Responsibilities</span></b></p><ul><li><b>Develop and manage test strategies</b> for embedded software, including functional, integration, system, and regression testing, ensuring <b>compliance with IEC 62304</b>, <b>ISO 13485</b>, and <b>ISO 14971</b> standards</li><li>Oversee the <b>design and implementation of manual and automated test systems</b>, including <b>integration tests</b>, and <b>black-box testing</b> for embedded systems, utilizing <b>CAN messages, digital inputs, and other interfaces</b></li><li><b>Manage the test environment</b>, including maintaining and expanding the full system test-setups</li><li>Collaborate closely with <b>Embedded Firmware Engineers</b>, <b>System Engineers</b>, and <b>Product Owners</b> to define test requirements, identify potential risks, and troubleshoot test failures</li><li><b>Mentor and guide</b> other test engineers, ensuring they have the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement in testing practices</li><li>Drive <b>test automation</b> and <b>continuous integration</b> initiatives, ensuring efficient execution of tests and tracking of results</li><li>Support the creation of <b>test documentation</b>, including <b>test plans</b>, <b>test case documentation</b>, and <b>test reports</b>, to ensure traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements</li><li>Act as a subject matter expert for <b>test methodology</b> and <b>test tools</b>, keeping up with industry advancements and integrating new technologies and practices</li><li>Report on test progress, coverage, and results to senior management and other stakeholders, providing clear insights into the quality of the embedded software</li><li>Occasional travel may be required</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Skills and Experience</b></p><ul><li><b>Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering</b>, or a related field</li><li><b>Several years</b> of experience in <b>software testing</b>, with some <b>years</b> in an <b>embedded systems</b> testing environment</li><li>Experience in the <b>medical device industry</b> or other regulated industries is highly preferred.</li><li><b>Experience with Agile development methodologies</b> is a plus</li><li>Certifications in <b>Software Testing</b> (e.g., ISTQB, or equivalent) or <b>regulatory standards</b> (e.g., IEC 62304) are preferred</li><li>Strong expertise in <b>embedded software testing</b>, with a solid understanding of <b>automated testing</b>, and <b>integration testing</b> for <b>embedded systems </b>and<b> GUI</b></li><li>Proficient in <b>test automation tools</b> and <b>continuous integration systems</b> (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)</li><li>Expertise in <b>black-box, grey box testing</b></li><li>Familiarity with <b>medical device software regulations</b> and compliance standards, particularly <b>IEC 62304</b> for software development</li><li>Experience with <b>CAN bus</b>, <b>Ethernet</b>, <b>I2C</b>, and other embedded communication protocols</li><li>Strong understanding of <b>software lifecycle management</b> and <b>requirements traceability</b> in a regulated environment</li><li>Familiarity with tools such as <b>PCAN,</b> <b>Vector CANoe</b>,<b> Squish</b> or similar test environments is a plus</li></ul><ul><li>Proven experience leading <b>test activities </b>in complex projects, with strong leadership and mentorship abilities</li><li>Excellent communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams, including <b>software engineers</b>, <b>regulatory experts</b>, and <b>product owners</b></li><li>Ability to drive results and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and regulated environment</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex test failures and provide solutions</li><li>Passion for <b>continuous improvement</b> and promoting a <b>quality-first mi
