POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Account / Analyst ensures the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and yearly close of multiple entities and ensures all deadlines are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform monthly closing procedures for multiple Group Office entities. This includes reporting variances to budget, latest forecast and prior year
Assist in preparation of budget, quarterly forecasts, and quarterly review meeting (QRM) presentation to Magna Management.
Prepare Budget and Forecast support files for Group Office as well as the One Stream load files
Develop and maintain various templates such as OneStream Quickview files.
Input and log standard and non-standard journal entries using AccPac / Solomon
Assist divisions to record the inter-company fees, such as Group fees and IP Royalty fees and review for their accuracy.Record necessary top level journal entries to make sure fees are recorded properly based on Exteriors and Magna policies.
Assist in preparing annual audit and tax packages, including preparation of year end CMF (Controller Model File)
Assist in responding to variance analysis questions and information requested by Magna Corporate.
Prepare local AccPac / Solomon figures for initial and final Transfer Pricing Group Office Allocations and year end entries
Foreign currency revaluation at month end ensures accurate reporting of foreign-denominated assets and liabilities.
Preparing Tax Packages requested by Magna Tax, and legal entity financial statements for Canadian tax returns
Prepares Quarterly and Year End Deliverables for Magna International
Perform other duties as may be assigned by Director of Finance
Some travel may be required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills/Special Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA Accounting designation is preferred, but not required.
Good working knowledge and familiarity with Solomon (Microsoft Dynamics accounting software) / Acc Pac / SAP / One Stream preferred.
Consolidation & reporting experience in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or OneStream preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring that deadlines are met, effective organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Strong degree of initiative and judgment. Automotive experience preferred. Comfortable working individually, or with a team, in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Experience – At least 5 years of public or corporate accounting experience is preferred. Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
