Overview

 

The Director of Data Protection and Privacy leads, manages and oversees the Data Protection and Privacy teams at Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits. 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Hands-on experience with mainstream Data Protection tools (Microsoft Purview, Mimecast Incydr, Thales, etc.)
  • Experience working with Legal on applicable privacy requirements (i.e., CCPA and others)
  • Knowledgeable on implementing technical solutions and controls to ensure company compliance with applicable privacy requirements
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of technology environments, including telecommunications, networks, security, programming, and server administration
  • Experience with utilizing the NIST Cybersecurity Framework within a large organization (including associated policies, standards and tools)
  • Provides leadership, direction and performance of technical teams to ensure the delivery of IT security services.
  • Provides the vision and leadership for the team ranging from short term tactical steps to long term direction and strategy.
  • Leads strategic planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing security initiatives to enhance the enterprise architecture and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
  • Provide stretch opportunities and coaching to develop team and deliver results.
  • Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives
  • Collaborates with the appropriate departments and outside vendors to develop and maintain a Data Protection and Privacy plan that supports organizational needs
  • Analyzes complex business needs and recommends Data Protection and Privacy solutions to the Executive Team
  • Contributes collaboratively within a fast-paced environment to ensure design and delivery of high-quality solutions which adhere to industry standards for architecture, security, privacy, and general best practices
  • Conducts research to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable in regards to industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes and system alterations
  • Ensures that the company is making the best use of available technology to keep data, information and IT assets secure
  • Ensures the security of all information systems impacting company business including SAP system, desktop computers and associated software, business machines, cell and smart phones, and telephone systems
  • Directs and prioritizes the workload of subordinate personnel and assists with workload prioritization as needed.
  • Ensures continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of systems, programs, and equipment performance
  • Conducts and coordinates analysis, design and implementation of security controls to safeguard SGWS data, information and IT assets
  • Performs performance and conducts interviews and makes recommendations for new hires, consultants and/or replacement personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in food and beverage, CPG or distribution industry
  • Active CISSP, CISM or CISA certi
