<p>Nanogami is a highly innovative and rapidly growing startup in the field of DNA Origami-based nanotechnology (check out our <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBfUAK2QKhw" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">DLD Talk</a> or this <a href="https://www.sprind.org/en/projects/nanogami/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">article</a> to learn more). Our international team is driven by a shared vision: to pioneer a novel generation of biochips set to unlock applications in research and diagnostics and thereby pushing the boundaries of personalised medicine to new heights. We recently secured significant funding by SPRIND - Germany’s Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation to realize our ambitious growth trajectory and now aim to significantly expand our current team to support the at-scale commercialisation of our nanotechnology.</p><p><br/><strong>Role Overview </strong></p><p>As a Senior Biotechnology Research Scientist (f/m/d) in our trailblazing startup, you will spearhead innovative biotechnology research projects. Here, you'll lead a team driven by passion for scientific breakthroughs, particularly in ssDNA production, within a culture that values creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge in biotechnology and a proven track record of individual contributions to significant scientific advancements in the field.</p><p><br/><strong>What you will do </strong></p><ol> <li>Drive advancements in high cell density E. coli cultivation and ssDNA production research.</li> <li>Implement and optimize large-scale biotechnological processes through innovation and expertise.</li> <li>Ensure excellence in production and quality assurance in our biotech facility.</li> <li>Lead and inspire a team of skilled biotechnologists.</li> <li>Uphold high standards of laboratory records, training, and documentation.</li> <li>Oversee the management of our microbial culture collection.</li> <li>Stay abreast of the latest developments in biotechnology and incorporate cutting-edge techniques into research methodologies.</li> </ol><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Master’s degree or PhD in biotechnology, molecular biology or in a related field</li> <li>At least 10 years of experience working in a biotech laboratory setting, with a preference for industry experience.</li> <li>Mastery of biotechnological techniques and <strong>deep knowledge and experience with lab scale bioreactors and high cell density E. coli cultivation </strong> </li> <li><strong>Proficient in molecular cloning and experience with bacteriophages, in particular M13 filamentous phage and lambda phage</strong></li> <li>Proven leadership, with a track record of successful team management.</li> <li>Positive, open-minded, keen on continuous learning and teaching.</li> <li>Fluent in English.</li> </ul><p>Preferred</p><ol> <li>German language proficiency.</li> <li>Experience with pilot scale bioreactors (up to 200 L)</li> <li>Experience in ssDNA scaffold production</li> </ol><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul> <li>Opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge nanotechnology startup.</li> <li>Accelerated career trajectory.</li> <li>Competitive compensation and benefits structure.</li> <li>An international, collaborative, and supportive work culture.</li> <li>Flexible working models.</li> </ul>
