Position Summary:
Responsible for training and retraining employees to perform manufacturing procedures and maintaining proper and thorough documentation of training.


Duties and Responsibilities:
This list is not comprehensive but meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties are required and/or assigned

  • Assist in training employees in each department
  • Work with Engineering department to determine proper type of training (documentation review versus physical training)
  • Keep associates motivated and stress the importance of following procedures
  • Conduct yourself as a model employee 
  • Ensure operators start production on time and go to and return from breaks on time
  • Ensure all department personnel are trained properly on the appropriate manufacturing procedures
  • Effectively communicate quality or personnel issues to supervisors/managers/engineers
  • Coordinate with Engineering department for the timely testing and results of training samples when physical training is required
  • Train employees how to properly fill in paperwork
  • Use of manual and semiautomatic fixtures
  • Inspection of components, assemblies or packaged products
  • Maintain quality and efficiency standards
  • Work with engineering to develop retraining schedules/frequency for certain procedures
  • Complete paperwork accurately and legibly
  • Cross-functional training required
  • Follow instructions and procedures accurately and precisely
  • Communicate between departments and shifts to ensure effective workflow.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours to assist with 2nd and 3rd shift training needs if needed
  • Ensure appropriate employee training is performed and documented, Maintain training logs
  • Communicate manufacturing/quality issues with Engineering/Quality and operators
  • Ensure smooth transfers of technology and product revisions/introductions from Engineering to Production
  • Maintain open lines of communication between all shifts and levels of the organization.
  • Coordinate training needs and communications between shifts.
  • Review paperwork; Ensure operators are filling paperwork out correctly
  • Communicate IT needs and ERP system issues with the IT department.
  • Assist with ERP Implementation and ongoing use
  • Review quality reports and help develop strategies to improve yields through training and recommend improvements to engineering.
  • Schedule training times with feedback from department leads and supervisors
  • Work with the Engineering department on process validations and sampling
  • Perform spot checks to insure quality
  • Uphold company policies
  • Work with management to ensure company goals and policies are met 
  • Additional or extended work hours may be required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • College degree or extensive background in training
  • Coaching/mentoring experience preferred 

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, and interpret technical procedures in English
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English

Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts of basic math


Reasoning Ability: 

  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
