Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages and monitors all aspects of the monthly tax cycle for assigned portfolios.
- Demonstrates superior knowledge in assessment review, return filing, and jurisdictional and industry expertise.
- Schedules, coordinates, and leads all status calls and client presentations and consistently updates clients on recent appeal activities and status of engagements.
- Reviews and manages client engagements to the agreed upon scope of services and fees.
- Manages client billing and ensures timely collection of receivables.
- Supervises and provides guidance to team and acts as mentor to new managers/seniors and staff.
- Ensures team compliance with Firm policies, practice guidelines, and standards.
- Gives timely performance feedback to team members and addresses, documents, and escalates performance issues.
- Ensures workload is properly distributed among managers and team members and holds team members accountable for completion of assigned projects.
- Actively involved in business development of new clients, maintaining existing clients, and focusing on cross-selling efforts.
- Participates actively in professional organizations and seeks speaking opportunities and writing articles to build eminence.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
University Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Business Management, or other degree with MBA, MST, or JD required and a minimum of seven years tax-related experience required.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required. Senior Manager should maintain professional designations and keep active in professional organizations on a local and national level.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees in the Transaction Tax Compliance practice and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm’s policies and applicable laws.
