Software Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, optimize, and debug code to develop streaming protocol features.
• Design and implement tools and techniques to analyze and improve the performance of cloud streaming protocol.
• Help develop and contribute to automation deployment of product features and run code in simulated or other non-production environments to confirm functionality and measure performance.
• Contribute in partnership with appropriate stakeholder to determine requirements for a feature and consider a variety of feedback to incorporate insights into designs or fixes.
• Learn and contribute to the architecture of product features and help to refine code plans under the technical leadership of others.
• Learn about and contribute to operation of live service as issues arise on a rotational, on-call basis and identify solutions and mitigations to issues impacting performance or functionality of service.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C++
  • OR equivalent experience.  
• 1+ year of experience with multi-threaded programming and debugging.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C or C#
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C or C#
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Experience with video streaming or equivalent networking scenarios.
• Experience in Windows OS development, including system integration, security models, and performance optimization for applications.
• Familiar with C++ Standard Template Library (STL).
