About the Team and Role
Reporting to the VP of Services BU, this role supports eBay’s Services organization, which spans five distinct businesses: Advertising, Financial Services, Shipping & Authentication, Monetization, and B2C, united under shared leadership to drive faster innovation and greater impact. The Head of Business Operations is essential for enabling the effectiveness of this shared leadership model, driving execution, consistency across the portfolio, and ensuring the organization operates with rigor and clarity at scale.
What You Will Accomplish
Leadership Cadence & Executive Content
Own the leadership operating system for the Services BU: staff meetings, offsites, All Hands. Drive agenda-setting, preparation, decision capture, and follow-through.
Ensure business rhythms (e.g. WBR / MBR / QBR) run consistently across businesses. GMs own their reviews; this role owns the infrastructure, consistency, and accountability across the portfolio.
Maintain the Business Planning Calendar aligned to Corporate and GMX timelines. Serve as the coordination point for Central Ops requests and cross-org alignment.
Partner with the GMs and Head of Strategy to drive execution of strategic initiatives, translating direction into milestones, tracking progress, and ensuring completion.
Operational Execution
Own headcount and budget operations: workforce capacity tracking, requisition approvals, financial envelope alignment, and coordination across Finance, People, and Recruiting.
Manages and drives execution for high-priority projects and requests originating from Services leadership and GMX Central Operations.Produce reporting and insights that keep leadership informed and decisions grounded.
Culture, Engagement & Alignment
Drive talent, culture, and engagement across the org in partnership with the People Partner. Champion consistent internal communications, employee sentiment, and a leadership culture that is visible and accountable.
Ensure the org stays informed, connected, and aligned; from new hire onboarding to leadership communications.
AI Transformation
Lead the Services AI transformation roadmap: drive adoption, own change management for high-impact initiatives, and partner with the Office of AI and Central Ops to accelerate integration across the portfolio.
Align AI investments with workforce capacity, budget planning, and organizational priorities.
What You Will Bring
10+ years in business operations, program management, or chief-of-staff roles supporting senior leaders in complex organizations; tech or product org preferred.
Proven track record running executive forums, preparing leadership materials, and driving follow-through to completion.
Strong cross-functional partnership experience with Finance, People / Recruiting, Product, and Central Ops. Comfortable owning headcount and budget workflows end to end.
Exceptional program and project management skills: planning, facilitation, communication, and outcome tracking across multiple concurrent workstreams.
Change management experience, ideally with technology or AI adoption: able to translate strategy into governance, adoption plans, and operational accountability.
Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to influence senior stakeholders and present confidently to executive audiences.
