Position Overview:
Solid Power, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next- generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative team environment. Ownership of equipment, repair, and on-the-spot troubleshooting support, and preventative maintenance will be the primary focus of daily activities. This role is a key position on a growing team that supports the success of R&D and production alike.
Job Duties:
- Assist or lead with hands-on installation, operation, and maintenance of new and existing machine equipment and new line installations.
- Keep track of maintenance schedules for all equipment using CMMS software and scheduling tools.
- Support other departments as required with production integration for process specific equipment and/or coordinate with Solid Power staff and contractors where applicable.
- Contribute toward the development of new procedures and improved general practices in the form of work instructions and SOPs.
- Communicate results of work through effective data collection and management, documentation, and reports to supervisor(s).
- Plan and perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.
- Repair all production equipment as needed.
- Work independently under limited supervision (self-management).
- Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in a technical/related discipline or a minimum of 10 years of maintenance experience in a lab, technology, or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of industry safety and reliability standards.
- General maintenance/repair/troubleshooting experience with industrial electrical control systems (480VAC, 208VAC, 110VAC and 24VDC), pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drive systems.
- Experience with starters, relays, contacts and fuses.
- Experience replacing pump seals, motors and gearboxes.
- Experience with hydraulic cylinders, valves and hoses.
- Structured problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Ability to work and complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
- Availability to work and drive between two sites, located in Louisville (primary work site) and Thornton, Colorado.
Hourly Compensation: $30-$40/hour
