We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.</p><p><span>The </span><b><span>Senior Associate Indirect Tax (Intrastat) Reporting EMEA</span></b><span> is responsible for driving the indirect tax (Intrastat) compliance and reporting activities for multiple markets in the EU. </span></p><p></p><p><b><span>In this role, a typical day will include:</span></b></p><ul><li><span>Timely and accurate preparation and submission of Intrastat returns for the countries in scope in collaboration with external service provider (where applicable). </span></li><li><span>Oversee indirect tax compliance matters and perform control checks of transactional and reporting data to identify any errors and anomalies, including reconciliation of the statistical reporting/Intrastat data against the VAT reporting data for the period.</span></li><li><span>Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure that errors are properly corrected and remediation actions have been taken to minimize the likelihood of similar errors in the future.</span></li><li><span>Timely escalate errors and issues to the respective indirect tax responsible (e.g. Tax and Statutory Manager) and support him/her in the investigation of the root causes and remediation activities.</span></li><li><span>Assist with both external and internal audits, inspections, and reviews, ensuring all necessary information, documentation and reconciliations are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.</span></li><li><span>Support cross-functional projects and where necessary, perform required testing of new or changes in existing system indirect tax set-up.</span></li><li><span>Independently cooperates with finance, business and other stakeholders.</span></li><li><span>Ensure adherence to local and international tax rules applicable to the countries in scope and Global Indirect Tax and Company policies, procedures, and controls.  </span></li><li><span>Promote a strong control environment and follow up on audit issues and implement correcting measures. </span></li></ul><ul><li><span>Actively collaborates with Business and Finance Functions working style being inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven in alignment with Alcon Values and Behaviours.</span></li><li><span>Act service oriented to enable service lines to deliver a high-performing organisation and contribute to <span>improvements/standard</span> solutions while cultivating a customer service focus culture.</span></li><li><span>Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders to proactively address indirect tax related issues.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:</span></b></p><ul><li>A degree in <span><span>Accounting/Finance/Tax/Law</span></span> or a related field with equivalent hands-on professional experience.</li><li>2-4 years of experience in (indirect) tax compliance and reporting. Previous experience with indirect tax compliance management for multiple countries in EU/EMEA will be considered as an advantage.</li><li>Experience working with multinational corporations.</li><li>Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.</li><li>Experience of Intrastat requirements and reporting.</li><li>Practical knowledge of country specific indirect tax rules and requirements for the countries in scope will be considered as an advantage.</li><li>Theoretical and practical knowledge of EU indirect rules and requirements, including different types of tax returns and obligations would be an advantage.</li><li>Ability to support internal and external audits by ensuring accurate tax reporting and documentation.</li><li>Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and compliance</li><li>Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.</li><li>Ability to communicate tax concepts clearly and effectively to non-tax professionals.</li><li>Proactive, adaptable, and results-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environments.</li><li>English.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b><span>HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON: </span></b></p><ul><li><span>Opportunity to expand knowledge and experience in the field of (indirect) tax.</span></li><li><span>Opportunity to join growing, early-stage organization built within a mature, stable global company</span></li><li><span>Friendly working environment and a diverse and highly motivated team</span></li><li><span>Very best working environment for our employees – Alcon Polska has been recognized as a Top Employer for the two years in a row</span></li><li><sp
