The Department of Economic Security, Office of the Director (OOD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Program Administrator 2 (Senior Records Officer). The Senior Records Officer is responsible for directing the department-wide records management program, including the development and oversight of the organization's record retention and disposition policies and procedures. This role involves setting policy, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws relating to public records and record retention, overseeing the DES Public Records Request process, and providing high-level guidance on records/information management and public records fulfillment processes.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• At the DES enterprise level, direct the department's records and information management and public record request processes, including setting strategic direction, developing policies and guidelines, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws, including those related to record retention, release, and disposition.
• Oversee the administration of the department’s public record release process, including strategic structural design of the teams across DES, system upgrades, and user experience of the DES Public Records Request Portal.
• Provide direct supervision and performance management to the Records Program Administrator and Records Management and Retention Manager, as they supervise production staff and day to day output, identifying and supporting professional development opportunities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor department-wide record retention schedules and disposition policies to ensure legal compliance and efficient records management, working closely with the Records Management and Retention Manager.
• Coordinate with other state/federal agencies, Attorney General's Office, business partners and the public.
