About the team

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a critical corporate function responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing administration and supervision of the enterprise-wide risk management framework and all supporting activities, including risk identification, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of all Risk Domains and supporting taxonomies, such as Strategic, Financial, People, Technology, Legal and Compliance, Reputational, and Operational Risks, including Data and Information Security, Vendor and Third-Party, and Business Continuity and Resiliency Risks. Key components of the ERM program include Risk Appetite Framework, Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Issues Management, KRI Metrics, Risk Reporting, Crisis Management, and Controls Assurance Testing.

About the position

As the Head of Global Resilience, you will report to the Chief Risk Officer and lead a team that is responsible for ensuring FIS is able to anticipate, respond to, and recover from disruptive events. You will oversee business continuity, crisis management, disaster recovery, and risk mitigation programs, ensuring operational resilience across global markets.

What you will be doing

  • Evaluate and enhance existing global business resiliency strategy to align with FIS strategic objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the enhancement, ongoing maintenance, and testing of comprehensive business continuity plans, ensuring critical business functions remain operational during disruptions.
  • Lead global incident response and crisis management team, coordinating communication and recovery efforts during emergencies.
  • Identify, asses, and prioritize risks to global operations by working with cross-functional teams to mitigate vulnerabilities and strengthen organizational readiness.
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure technical infrastructure and data recovery processes are robust and regularly tested.
  • Monitor emerging threats and trends, incorporating lessons learned into resiliency strategies to enhance preparedness and agility.
  • Regular reporting to, and interaction with, FIS’ most senior executives.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, Business, Economics, or Pre-Law with experience in relevant Risk Management, Audit, and/or Legal roles (or in lieu of a bachelor's degree 9+ years of relevant experience in Audit, Legal or Risk Management roles with emphasis in data analysis, process and controls, and project management).
  • Prior Risk, Legal, or Compliance experience in a financial institution
  • Strong committee experience (managing, coordinating, and/or executing committee meetings)
  • Strong leadership skills working within a matrixed environment
  • Ability to influence stakeholders both cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization
  • Sharp focus on accuracy with extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent project management skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, and pivot quickly should priorities change
