Responsibilities
The Expert Business Process Manager (BPM) / SE&I Manager is a dual-role position combining technical business process leadership with functional personnel management. Supporting Peraton’s prime contract for the NEE program—an SE&I services contract covering project and architecture engineering, requirements and interface definition, schedule planning, security engineering, systems integration, risk management, transition to operations, and operational validation—the BPM/SE&I Manager leads a Peraton Engineering Team and drives organizational performance. Reporting to the Program Manager and Lead Integrator, the role focuses 90% on technical contribution to Enterprise Engineering & Integration projects and 10% on managing engineering staff. The ideal candidate excels in complex technical environments, demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills, and thrives in a multi-government, multi-contractor, geographically distributed setting.
Key Responsibilities
Technical / Business Process Leadership
- Lead and coordinate organizational resources to achieve program objectives while evaluating IT engineering and architecture processes to improve performance and operational efficiency.
- Analyze user needs and technical requirements to assess feasibility, risks, and approaches for cloud and development initiatives, refining workflows and processes to streamline operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including analysts, engineers, programmers, integrators, and architects—to develop business process solutions, support cloud-related business cases, and guide the transition from paper-based processes to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts.
Functional / Management Responsibilities
- Provide functional leadership for Peraton engineering personnel, including performance management, career development, merit planning, recognition, and disciplinary actions.
- Oversee staffing and recruitment activities by creating position descriptions, developing staffing plans, collaborating with Talent Acquisition, reviewing candidates, and supporting hiring decisions.
- Mentor and develop engineering staff, conduct performance reviews, facilitate goal-setting, implement retention strategies, approve timesheets and expense reports, and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment through conflict resolution.

Required Qualifications:
Education & Technical Background
- Must occupy a funded TS/SCI billet for the NEE Program (TO-1) and meet NEE Level-4 labor category requirements.
- Master’s degree in business administration, business operations, operations research, business management, or a STEM field; or 18 years of experience as a Business Process Manager in lieu of a degree.
- 18 years of experience in engineering, design and analysis of IT or related systems experience in all phases of design, development, analysis and documentation, and development of standards and guidelines for tasks being performed.
- 18 years of experience in government or industry with DoD/IC Acquisition processes or PPBES.
- Demonstrated experience providing guidance and direction in high-technology programs.
- TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly.
Leadership & Management Experience
- Demonstrated success leading and developing large engineering teams, including performance management, mentoring, conflict resolution, and maintaining strong interpersonal, organizational, and client-relationship skills.
Technical & Problem-Solving Skills
- Strong understanding of systems engineering and integration (SE&I) environments, with proven analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively through oral, written, and presentation formats.
Relevant Mission/Program Experience
- Previous experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or DoD programs.
- Experience with NGA and/or NSG/ASG programs or mission environments.
