Job Description:

Madison College is seeking a Senior Security Advisor to join the Public Safety team, responsible for analyzing, directing, and coordinating the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of integrated district-wide public safety systems. This is a technical role that demands strong critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively troubleshoot issues, all while collaborating with a highly supportive team.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of public safety systems; including alarms, card access, monitoring live video footage from closed-circuit televisions, parking gates, public address systems, and security cameras. The Senior Security Advisor works independently to develop and implement best business practices, devise effective procedures to address system-related problems, and conduct audits on the public safety systems in place.

This is a full time position, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm with flexibility to accommodate evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, update, modify district door locking plan to include schedule changes, event planning, room usage integration, and modification.
• Update, maintain individual locking plans for all district employees
• Select, evaluate,deploy, monitor and maintain all district access, CCTV, fire alarm systems hardware.
• Maintain all district lock, and CCTV workstations and servers, responsibility includes addition of peripheral devices, backups, records purging, and updating system.
• Implement, evaluate, interpret, and enforce district policies and procedures related to access, CCTV, and fire alarm systems.
• Remain updated on system technology and best practices, including hardware and software, codes, industry standards,  software and hardware recalls. 
• During new construction and system modifications/addition, work as the project manager for access, CCTV and fire alarm systems. Including specification overview, construction progress, contract compliance, punch list generation, testing, training, commissioning and warranty compliance.   

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Thorough working knowledge of card access locking systems; hardware, software, networking, maintenance, and system capabilities.
• Working knowledge of CCTV camera systems, hardware including but not limited to cameras, NVR, storage devices, servers, and software. Comprension of Fire / Sprinkler systems including Control panel, NAC panels field devices, flow & tamper switches, pull stations, horn strobes, addressable and non addressable alike. 
• Understanding of the Districts facilities and the varied uses of each one, i.e. electrical layouts, network and data layouts, communications, mechanical layouts, room and building usage etc.
• Skill in communicating effectively with technical
