Research Fellow

Requirements:

• A PhD in the biological sciences field plus at least 1-2 years of experience in developmental biology, lung biology preferred
• Advanced knowledge of biological processes
• Expertise in human lung tissue handling and culture
• Expertise in cell culture (primary cell and iPSC) and tissue culture
• Expertise in molecular biology techniques (RNA, DNA extractions, rt-PCR, electrophoresis, ELISA etc)
• Expertise in protein assays (extractions, WB)
• Expertise in immunofluorescent staining and fluorescent in situ hybridization (RNAscope)
• Expertise in imaging (confocal, light sheet, live-imaging etc.)
• Familiarity with siRNA
• Familiarity with Flow-cytometry
• Familiarity with big data analyses
• Ability to think independently and perform appropriate data analysis
• Ability to write papers
• Ability to write grants
• Ability to work as a member of a team and help supervise other team members
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
• Ability to interact in an appropriate and professional manner
• Demonstrates cooperative behavior and positive-problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Available to work dependable, flexible shift   

Responsibilities:

• Conducting research and publishing papers in academic journals
• Designing new scientific projects
• Writing grant proposals to secure funding for research projects
• Supervising and training students
• Attending academic conferences
• Participate in professional society events and activities
• Participate in institutional activities
• Other duties as may be assigned
