This job posting is for 2nd shift, initially working a schedule of Monday through Friday and some Saturdays, and then a rotational schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off one week, and 3 days on, 4 days off the following week when the plant moves to a 7-day operation. Work hours are generally 2:30 p.m. to approximately 11:00 p.m (or when done for the night). The base rate of pay is $21.30/hour, plus a shift premium of $1.00/hour. Team members must be willing to work overtime and weekends, as needed. This position is eligible for overtime pay.
Job Responsibilities:
Loads and ships goods, receives and unloads goods
Maintains packaging materials on storage trailers
Operates electric or hand jacks, and drives both sit-down and stand-up styles of forklifts
Manually changes forklift batteries
Performs daily safety inspection of the forklift and reports any problems to the supervisor
Keeps area and floor clean, including the cooler and shipping docks
Performs other jobs within the department and provides back-up/breaks to line puller when necessary
Rotates to other jobs in other departments, if needed
Accurately completes paperwork and Safety Chain entries
Uses EIM handheld and software to ship and receive goods
All team members are responsible for safety, including but not limited to, personal safety and food safety
Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations
Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT)
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, but not required
Forklift/Mule/PIT experience preferred, but not required, as training and certification is provided - required to become forklift certified within 30 days of starting position
Basic computer skills to navigate systems and perform data entry
Experience with inventory control methods preferred
Ability to record information using company-provided forms and procedures
Ability to accurately perform math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
