What you’ll be doing
The Director, Warehouse Southern Border is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations at the southern border, ensuring efficient and effective management of warehouse activities, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, and collaboration with various departments to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, management, and administrative skills and will work in strong collaboration with the Director, Southern Border Operations. The Director, Warehouse Southern Border will oversee the daily operations of the warehouses, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and effectively.

You will be responsible for
Strategic Planning and Execution:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with the company’s overall business goals, focusing on efficiency, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction
• Develop and implement the overall warehouse strategy and business plan supporting the southern border operations, including 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year roadmaps
• Collaborate with the Director, Southern Border and Buckland senior leadership to align warehouse operations with Buckland’s strategic goals and modernization objectives
• Responsible for sourcing and implementing tools, including software and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), to ensure efficient warehouse operations, while collaborating with the team to optimize existing processes as needed
• Act as a change agent, leading the organization towards a culture of continuous improvement
• Assess current and future operational risks locally, and translate those into strategies, capabilities, best practices, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Travel (25%) required servicing clients/customers in the Canada, United States, and Mexico
Warehouse Operations Management:
• Monitor and analyze operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
• Direct and improve warehouse functions, ensuring efficient, safe, and streamlined operations
• Oversee the use of warehouse management systems, inventory controls, and safety protocols to support operational goals and maintain high standards
• Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping, while ensuring the timely and accurate processing of transactions such as import entry files, shipping documentation, and invoicing.
• Implement and continuously improve departmental processes to increase efficiency and improve performance.
• Familiarity with MX customs procedures, particularly previo, and ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations.
• Exhibit proficiency in evaluating, implementing, and optimizing Warehouse Management System (WMS) solutions
• Supervises the proper selection, purchase/Lease, and utilization of Company assets in support of warehouse operations.
• Facilities & Yard Management: Oversee maintenance, safety compliance, vendor coordination, space planning, and budget management. Lead emergency response and sustainability initiatives.
Customer Relationship Management:
• Build strong customer relationships as a proactive business partner, anticipating customer needs and providing timely responses and service.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to secure new business and devise strategic approaches to the market.
• Demonstrate excellent customer relationship management skills.
• Coordinate projects and participate in RFQ responses.
• Travel (25%) required servicing clients/customers in the Canada, United States, and Mexico
Financial and Productivity Reporting:
• Prepare, analyze, and report on monthly productivity and financial results
