The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of specific business strategies by contributing to business development and growth through cultivating relationships with designated clients and making informed underwriting decisions to enhance the profitability of the Management Liability, Private/Not-for-Profit portfolio. Key responsibilities involve generating new business, retaining renewals, and ensuring the overall profitability of a specific designated book of business within our Financial Lines vertical
• Location: Chicago, IL
• Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week
• The starting salary for this role is between $136,500.00 and $204,500.00
Your new role:
- Underwrite business following the business plan and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development and delivery of the annual business plan.
- Apply a Reinsurance Strategy to safeguard the portfolio.
- Contribute to meetings to share knowledge and best practices.
- Promote the department, division, and company to maximise brand leverage.
- Establish and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
- Continually develop technical knowledge and expertise.
- Manage resources across the team to achieve business requirements.
- Motivate and develop the team through good leadership behaviours.
- Ensure accurate recording of insurance risks and compliance with regulations.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Skills: stakeholder management; analytical thinking; communication; decision making; risk management; portfolio management; healthcare insurance underwriting
Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
