Primary Responsibilities:

The Automotive Technician supports the daily operations of the Fleet Maintenance and Automotive Services Department by performing routine vehicle inspections, preventive maintenance support activities, vehicle readiness assessments, and fleet service functions. This position is responsible for monitoring vehicle condition, coordinating vehicle movement for scheduled maintenance and repairs, performing basic automotive service tasks, and assisting Automotive Mechanics with maintenance operations. The Automotive Technician plays a critical role in ensuring fleet vehicles and equipment remain safe, clean, reliable, and available to support park operations.

What you'll get to do

  • Perform routine vehicle inspections, including checking and documenting fluid levels, tire condition, battery condition, fuel levels, and overall vehicle readiness.
  • Conduct pre-service and post-service vehicle condition assessments and document any operational concerns, damage, or maintenance needs.
  • Retrieve, transport, and stage vehicles for scheduled maintenance, repairs, inspections, and body shop services.
  • Coordinate vehicle movement between operational departments, maintenance facilities, vendors, and external repair providers.
  • Assist Automotive Mechanics with basic maintenance and entry-level mechanical tasks under supervision.
  • Perform preventive maintenance support activities including fluid top-offs, tire pressure checks, battery maintenance, and other routine service functions.
  • Identify and report mechanical deficiencies, safety concerns, unusual vehicle conditions, or maintenance issues requiring further diagnosis.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle inspection reports, service documentation, and fleet readiness records.
  • Pick up and deliver automotive parts, supplies, tools, and materials from vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor vehicle inventory, parking locations, and service status to support efficient fleet operations.
  • Fuel vehicles as required and ensure vehicles are properly prepared for operational use.
  • Wash, vacuum, clean, and detail vehicles to maintain fleet appearance and operational standards.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-compliant automotive shop, maintenance yard, and vehicle staging areas.
  • Ensure all vehicle keys, maintenance records, and service documentation are properly tracked and secured.
  • Follow all company safety policies, driving regulations, environmental requirements, and departmental procedures.
  • Report accidents, vehicle damage, safety concerns, or operational issues to management immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of fleet maintenance and automotive operations.


What it takes to succeed:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Have a valid state driver’s license; visiting applicants and military must have valid driver’s license from state of residency and able to provide a copy of the DMV report
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ensure excellent customer service by responding to customer requirements, expectation, and needs
  • Ability to positively interact with guests and co-workers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or languages, and individuals with special needs
  • Ability to work on and interpret manufacturers’ manuals and
  • Have general understanding of proper electrical wiring methods and troubleshooting methods
  • Ability to safely operate cars, trucks, vans, golf carts, and other fleet vehicles.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform all procedures related to adherence of company and governmental regulations for water quality including, daily start-up, sampling, and troubleshooting
  • Possess strong written/verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Previous experience in automotive, fleet, transportation, valet, or maintenance operations.
  • Familiarity with vehicle inspection procedures and fleet management practices.
  • Experience operating a variety of vehicle types.
