Essential Functions
- Travels to conduct annual mandatory and specialized inspections and tests using test standards and associated equipment.
- Maintains records such as accounts of daily activities.
- Interprets and applies the Weights and Measures Act (225 ILCS 470) and the Motor Fuel Petroleum Act (225 ILCS 370) requirements as part of inspections and in response to inquiries.
- Travels to attend meetings and workshops regarding changes in technology, inspection procedures and administrative policies.
- Maintains vehicle, testing and office equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of two years of college, preferably with coursework in fields relating to business, management, or communications.
- Requires successful completion of an agency approved training program
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to successfully pass a pre-employment physical, including a drug and alcohol screening.
- Requires the ability to successfully pass a name-based background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
- Requires the ability to successfully pass random drug and alcohol screenings
- Requires the possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement.
- Requires the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. in scale weight.
- Requires the ability to sustain long periods of city and highway driving.
- Requires the ability to travel (Will require staying periodically in a hotel throughout the week and have the ability to pay for lodging and personal expenses while on travel status until being reimbursed).
- Requires the ability to climb, work in an environment with dust, chemicals, gasoline, livestock, refrigerated areas and outside during all seasons.
- Requires the ability to reside in Lee, Bureau or Ogle County.
