Special Security Representative

The Security Services Department’s overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory’s mission of development of game-changing technology in support of National Security, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.

Who are we?

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) whose mission is research in support of National Security.

What will you do?

Join a team of security professionals that are driven to solve complex security problems in support of the Laboratory’s Special Security Management Office (SSMO), ensuring the Laboratory workforce is appropriately vetted to join our Laboratory team as well as obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances:

 

• SCI Clearance Processing: Provide administrative security clearance support to a complete range of Laboratory and external personnel, vendors, and senior management
• SAP Access Administrative Management: Provide administrative support and guidance regarding Personnel Security Questionnaires (PSQs), foreign travel and foreign contact reporting.
• Enable the Mission: Process and conduct indoctrinations, debriefings, and required annual training.
• Security Triage: Provide guidance regarding access requirements, DoD security clearances and DD-254 contract specifications
• Record Keeping: Track and maintain personnel security records and detailed program metrics
• Efficiency Improvements: Support office process change and enhancement efforts for efficiencies, implementation of and acclimation to new Government requirements

• General experience: 1-2 years of work experience (including military), or college education (or a combination)
