Department Summary

The University of North Texas seeks a motivated, collaborative professional to join our Advancement team as a Leadership Annual Giving Officer. The Leadership Annual Giving Officer will collaborate with members of the Advancement team to solicit leadership annual gifts from alumni and friends of UNT. The candidate will have the opportunity to take part in an innovative Donor Experience Program that will change the face of annual giving. This position requires some weekend hours and some travel.

While reporting to the Senior Director of Leadership and Annual Giving, the Leadership Annual Giving Officer will work closely with to create and implement strategies to acquire, retain, and upgrade donors in leadership annual giving segments.

The University of North Texas Donor Experience Program is focused on marrying development communications efforts with fundraising workflows to engage and grow the next generation of supporters of the university. The Officer will focus on providing a first-class philanthropic experience for all donors by leveraging personalized digital engagement to effectively build relationships based on what truly matters to each individual supporter.

Position Overview

This position will manage a portfolio of approximately 1,000 donors with clear weekly, monthly, and annual goals. The candidate will collaborate with other Colleges, Schools, and Units along with departments both internally at the university and externally, to effectively execute 1:1 outreach campaign using technology resources including EverTrues cloud platform, social media, and virtual communications software. Comfortable with making personalized solicitations, daily use of video, phone, and email, and use of multiple databases and virtual communication technology is critical to success in this role.

This role is critical to helping the UNT achieve both its near-term annual giving goals and long-term fundraising objectives and develop qualified major gift referrals. Candidates should be self-motivated and positive professionals, with a team first optimistic attitude, eager to embody the UNT spirit and engage alumni and friends at a high velocity in a personalized manner.

The Donor Experience Officer will work under the supervision of the Associate Vice President for Development. This position will have at least twice a month reviews for progress toward goals and determination of needs for success, it will serve as an annual appointment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two years of professional experience in marketing, fundraising, event planning, public relations, corporate account sales, or communications; or any equivalent
