Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking a Senior Commissioning Project Manager to a multi-disciplined team on complex domestic and international projects for our Arlington, VA office location. We are seeking local people only. Relocation may possibly be available for the right person.
Responsibility for this role includes but are not limited to the following:
- Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
- Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.
- Consistently delivers profit margins planned.
- Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
- Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).
- Manages more complex clients and projects.
- Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
- Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims.
- Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or program of projects.
- Responsible for developing and leading complex commissioning projects throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborates directly with design and construction professionals at all levels of the project organization hierarchy
- Leads strategic planning and execution related to quality assurance/quality control
- Possesses subject matter expertise in at least one engineering discipline as well as building commissioning.
- Primary technical lead on existing building system troubleshooting
- Manages staff of multi-disciplinary commissioning professionals
- Experienced leading building commissioning programs on both domestic and international projects
- Will be responsible for leading commissioning projects on international assignments
- Provides quality control on AECOM commissioning deliverables
- Capable of performing onsite construction phase commissioning responsibilities
- Knowledgeable in troubleshooting HVAC and Electrical systems, including the use of tools, meters, data loggers, and verification equipment.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirement
- BA/BS in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Must have current commissioning industry certifications and credentials.
- Must have Technical training certifications and credentials
- U.S. Citizenship required, due to the nature of the work
- Valid Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review
Preferred Requirements
- 10+ years of direct commissioning experience on technically complex projects, ex. research laboratories, healthcare facilities, critical operations facilities

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is: $106k -$170k.
