Caterpillar is seeking a 2nd Shift Fabrications Production Manager in Brooklyn Park. In this role, you will guide a team in the Fabrications and Machining departments for Caterpillar Paving Products with a focus on achieving your team’s People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) performance goals!  

What you can look forward to in this role: 

• Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean product environment. 

• Determine processing needs to assure fixtures, tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements. 

• Daily tie-in with production management to designate work load, priorities and sequence for work assigned. 

• Determine overtime need, establish priorities when resources are insufficient, and evaluate when disciplinary action is necessary. 

• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Works to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value-added activities. 

• Ensure the quality of product produced and conforms to Caterpillars Quality Policy while maintaining cost. 

• Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CQMS (Caterpillar Quality Management System) / ISO certification, etc. 

• Train and develop staff, perform time keeping, estimate personnel needs, assign work, meet completion dates, and ensure consistent application of organizational needs.

• Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance. 

• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. 

• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. 

• Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.

The primary location for this position is Brooklyn Park, MN.

There is a 7% shift premium for this 2nd Shift position.

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
