The Role
As a Software Engineer on the Platforms team, you will develop and maintain the core systems, tools, and infrastructure that support the development, deployment, and scaling of 1X’s humanoid robot software. You’ll work across the full stack—from hardware interfaces to internal developer tools—ensuring our platforms are robust, efficient, and scalable. Your work will enable seamless collaboration across teams and accelerate progress toward our mission.

You Will

• Improve and maintain tools and systems that support software development and deployment

• Work across the tech stack to streamline workflows from local development through testing and release

• Help shape and evolve internal APIs, data formats, and system architecture

• Build reliable infrastructure and automation to support cross-functional teams

• Tackle a wide range of technical challenges across hardware, firmware, platforms, and production environments

Requirements

Must Have

• Experience building and maintaining internal systems, tools, or platforms that interface with hardware, firmware, or deployment pipelines

• Ability to work across layers of the stack, from low-level system or hardware interactions to tooling, APIs, and automation

• Strong programming skills and familiarity with building reliable, maintainable, and scalable software

• Understanding of workflows for testing, release, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines

• Ability to collaborate with hardware, firmware, production, and operations teams to ensure platform stability and usability

• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working across diverse technical domains

Benefits & Compensation

• Salary Range: $137,681 – $240,000 + Equity
