About the role
The Review Assistant II is responsible for providing advanced support for the medical review process including ensuring medical information is received, documented, maintained and distributed to appropriate team members in a confidential manner for activities to be completed appropriately and within required timeframes.

Essential Functions
- Ensures data integrity by performing data entry of information received from various sources. Gathers, coordinates, distributes, tracks and maintains highly confidential medical records according to Company, contract and/or federal/state regulations. Mentors and orients other review assistants. Manages support task workflow including coordinating workload with other assistants.
- Provides advanced office support for team and/or department which may include creating and editing documents, answering phones, responding to questions, distributing documents or reports and managing claims information.
- Ensures quality customer service by responding to phone inquiries from members, physicians, and providers. Prioritizes workload to meet program or regulatory time frames.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years related experience and/or training in medical terminology/transcription; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability working with confidential information and in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and intermediate PC skills.
- Must reside in central Iowa with the ability to work on-site one day per month.
- Experience in a health care environment preferred.
- Satisfactory completion of medical terminology course preferred.
- Intermediate PC functions preferred.
