<p><u><b>Summary</b></u></p><p><u><b>Job Description:</b></u></p><p><b><u>Nursing Assistant </u></b></p><p>Part-Time I Second Shift</p><p>Emergency Department I Lexington, KY</p><p><br/><span>An Emergency department (ED) that provides 24-hour emergency care to patients who need urgent medical attention for severe injuries or illness.</span></p><p> <b>Description:</b></p><ul><li>The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team that cares for the ED patient under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse.</li><li>Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow.</li><li>Working knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for assigned duties.</li><li>Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow.</li><li>Collects, process, transports and analyzes specimens according to approved standards of testing per laboratory policies and procedures.</li><li>Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, according to hospital policies and procedures.</li></ul><p><b>Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent</li><li>Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.</li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
