About the role

About the Team

At DoorDash, our customers are at the center of our product strategy and we believe that an amazing customer experience is the key to our success. The Consumer team designs the mobile apps and website that millions of customers use every day to order meals and more from their favorite local merchants.

The Consumer Retention team at DoorDash focuses on customer-first strategies and experience that build sustained engagement – measuring success by increasing order frequency and growing our monthly active customers. If you’re excited about solving high-impact problems that shape the way millions of people experience DoorDash, this is the team for you.

About the Role

As a Senior Product Designer on the Consumer Retention team, you will lead the design of growth components and tools that drive acquisition, boost awareness, and help DoorDash products grow faster. You’ll also work on tools that explore how AI can streamline growth workflows, and make it easier for teams to build and launch successful campaigns. This role is a mix of systems thinking, problem solving, and design craft. You'll collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data to deeply understand user needs and deliver solutions that are both functional and elegant.

You will report to the Head of Consumer Product Design in our Product Design organization. This role is a hybrid role with some time in-office and some time remote. We are looking for someone located near one of our tech hubs (SF Bay Area, Seattle, or New York).

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Contribute directly to DoorDash's consumer product strategy and define the future of our service.
  • Explore complex, ambiguous problem spaces, working with your team to understand the opportunity, and then chart a path forward.
  • Explore and refine your design solutions through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual design.
  • Influence your team's approach to product development, shaping the team's culture, processes, and practices.
  • Improve the lives of millions of DoorDash customers every day.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have 5+ years of work experience and a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to maintain a high bar for craft at scale and track record of leading new initiatives and achieving success in a team environment.
  • You think of yourself as a craftsperson pushing the envelope on quality, usually find yourself sweating over the lowest level of details and deeply care about elevating the overall experience.
  • You excel at storytelling and convey complex topics clearly and thoroughly to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • You’re a problem solver, use a first principles approach and aren’t afraid to try new things to create the future.
