Position Description:

Formulate strategies and adoption of emerging data technologies to help drive the modernization of legacy mainframe applications along with numerous other initiatives. Design technical strategies and implements design patterns of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure technologies using AWS EC2, Azure VMs, AWS EKS, Azure AKS, AWS RDS, Azure Databases, AWS S3, and Azure Storage Accounts. Implement batch and event driven architectures and craft systems for high efficiency, low latency, high availability, and fault tolerance. Uses software development skills and programming languages such as Java, C#, and Python.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Applies multiple cloud native stacks and the latest technologies with high levels of resiliency and security.
• Leverages technical leadership to mentor and coach other team members.
• Implements modern technologies and cloud trends.
• Designs and implements resilient cloud architecture.
• Uses cloud infrastructure components such as server, storage, network, data, and applications to deliver end-to-end Cloud-based architecture and solutions.
• Designs strategies and patterns for general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
• Design strategies and patterns for data integration, data security, data warehousing, data analytics, metadata management and data quality.
• Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.
• Designs software or customizes software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
• Analyzes and designs databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Architecture (or closely related occupation) developing data architecture designs for mission critical financial service platforms.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Architecture (or closely related occupation) developing data architecture designs for mission critical financial service platforms.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) architecting, designing, and building highly scalable transactional, analytical, and reporting financial solutions using AWS Cloud Services, Azure Cloud Services, Oracle, SnapLogic, and SnowflakeDB.
• DE designing database deployment strategies using DB2, Oracle, Oracle EXADATA, YugabyteDB, SnowflakeDB, and AerospikeDB within a mission critical Workplace Investing environment.
• DE prototyping key technology solutions using containerization and services technologies provided by modern Cloud platforms – AWS and Azure Cloud Services (Databases and VMs).
• DE architecting and developing performant, highly available, and scalable applications, using REST Web services, languages (Java or Python), relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle and Aerospike), and AWS Cloud native technologies (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateways, and ALBs).
