Project Engineer - OTX

The OTX Engineering Management Team within RWE Offshore Wind is looking for a Project Engineer with a first technical background in hydrogen and offshore wind to support project-level design, interfaces and optimisation activities, plus other multidisciplinary engineering workstreams in our global OTX projects.

 

Your future plans

• Support project engineering activities to deliver competitive, optimised design decisions - in particular co-ordination of project-level design and optimisation activities (including project capacity, footprint and layout selection); Energy production estimate activities; Project consent envelope; Integration of innovation workstreams
• Support multidisciplinary and multidepartment activities, ensuring clear communication and alignment is maintained, safeguarding safety by design alongside deliverability, project commercial drivers and other design constraints
• Support all initiatives for continuous improvement within workstreams; with a particular focus on safety, project economics, inclusion of any innovation or auction specific requirements
• Maintain robust documentation of your workstreams and any resulting design decisions with supporting evidence
• Support design optimisation activities: evaluate best practice strategy and methodology, identify design constraints and targets, support engineering cost modelling activities
• Act as the bridge to the energy production disciplines - provide technical review and alignment as the project develops
• For innovation management: participate in innovation workstreams and feasibility assessments to provide business case inputs and documentation
• You will strive to remain well-informed of technological innovations and practices through regular contact with other teams, projects, departments, industry and academic experts

 

Your profile

• Professionally qualified to degree level in a relevant Engineering or related discipline
• An understanding of the competitive offshore wind and hydrogen market
• Knowledge of engineering system design, optimisation, and cost modelling
• Good organisational skills and first experience of project management
• Knowledge of innovative technology development and integration would be an advantage
• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with people in different specialisms, levels of hierarchy, backgrounds and cultures
• Willingness to innovate and challenge the status quo with a continuous-improvement mindset
• Fluent in English, other languages desirable
