Job Description
Ashburn Consulting is seeking a Lead Sr. Network Engineer/Architect for a direct hire opportunity in Arlington, VA. This individual will possess strong understanding of Cisco networking, Palo Alto Firewalls, MPLS, cloud networking, F5 Load Balancers, and VPN solutions. An expert level understanding of network communication and configuring network devices is required.
This role requires someone with deep and proven technical acumen. It requires someone with the ability to work and communicate in a team environment and deal with complex technologies and concepts. The Lead Sr. Network Engineer/Architect will communicate directly with senior management and high level key personnel to assess, recommend, and advise on all network design, equipment, and interconnectivity.
Responsibilities:
• Able to design, architect, and troubleshoot complex networks with security devices within the path.
•Work with a team of engineers in support of a large complex network and work to proactively design solutions that run efficiently and manageable.
- Knowledgeably communicate and effectively advise client and team members.
Qualifications
•Minimum qualification of at least 6-10 years of experience with multivendor IP based networks.
•Cisco network device configuration experience
•Expert level understanding of all layers of the OSI model
•Expert level understanding of IP routing and switching
•Load Balancing background utilizing F5
•Experience with cloud based solutions (i.e. Microsoft, Azure)
•Extensive experience with, but not limited to, the following vendors: Cisco and Palo Alto,
•Ability to multi-task and communicate complicated technical issues across and upwards within management hierarchy.
•CCNP/CCIE or equivalent certifications
•Detailed technical documentation/network diagram creation experience/training
