Position Summary: 
Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Finance, the Assistant Director for Finance & Administration provides comprehensive financial, administrative, and operational oversight for the School of Pharmacy. The position is responsible for supporting the planning, management, monitoring, and analysis of the School’s financial resources, including operating, sponsored research, and other designated funds. The Assistant Director serves as a key financial and administrative resource to school leadership, faculty, and staff, providing financial analysis, reporting, budget monitoring, and recommendations to support sound fiscal management and informed decision-making.

The Assistant Director is responsible for the post-award financial and administrative management of sponsored research within the School of Pharmacy, ensuring that research expenditures, payroll, effort reporting, transfers, purchasing, and related activities are accurate, timely, appropriately documented, and compliant with University and sponsor requirements. The position works closely with faculty, research personnel, central University offices, and school leadership to resolve financial issues, monitor award activity, and support the effective administration of research funding.

In addition to financial and sponsored research responsibilities, the Assistant Director oversees and coordinates a range of administrative functions, including payroll and timekeeping, faculty and staff contract and salary-related processes, purchasing approvals, account access, and financial reporting. The position is responsible for student scholarship award tracking and reporting along with assuring the defined award criteria are met. The position develops and implements policies, procedures, and business processes designed to strengthen internal controls, improve operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with University policies and applicable regulatory and sponsor requirements.

The Assistant Director serves as a liaison between School of Pharmacy leadership, faculty, staff, and central administrative offices, communicating financial and operational information, coordinating work across functional areas, and providing guidance on policies, procedures, and administrative processes. The position exercises independent judgment in analyzing financial and administrative matters and makes recommendations to leadership regarding resource management, process improvements, and operational effectiveness.  

This position is expected to be a full-time, on-site, in-person position. 

Required Education and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of directly related experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
