WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Technical Manager, Information Modeling!
This position will be hybrid based out of Orlando, FL.
Provides subject matter technical design and CADD support guidance, and oversight to ensure the production of designs and specifications to be used for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business lines. Provides guidance for multi-site/phase projects by providing coordination and oversight for CADD designs on various multi-site/phase construction projects of moderate to larger scale, scope, and/or complexity. Responsible for providing situational guidance to PMs and managers with applying and integrating drafting and design support data and perspective to solve project challenges, and to inform corrective/mitigation strategy development across a variety of disciplines. Monitor and oversee any onsite activities to ensure that drafting and design support functional responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.
Your Impact
- Lead and review work product compiled and drafted from the physical work site, surveys, structural concepts, blueprints, schematics, data, verbal or written specifications, technical drawings, rough sketches, diagrams, and other matrices to support drafting and design activities for single, multi-phase, or multi-site project work.
- Provide leadership and review of team’s projects to include staffing assignments, project delivery, as well as technical expertise on 3D computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) work product; validating and signing off on the authenticity of work product.
- Ensure the appropriate use of quality control standard and procedures for accurate and precise CADD work, measurements, documentation, analysis, and portrayal of incoming and existent data.
- Ensure and oversee standard practices to provide technical design assistance and guidance that accounts for the proper illustration, fit form, and function using geometric dimensioning, tolerance and quantity calculations, while ensuring the construction and maintainability of designs according to design standard specifications and code requirements.
- Acts as a lead consultant regarding work progress and problem resolution; often serving as the only Drafting/Design Support resource on a project or assist in overseeing Drafting/Design Support activities for projects of large scope and complexity within a district or region.
- Monitor and verify accuracy of calculations, design, change orders, interpretation of contract plans and specifications, recognizing large to more intricate construction or engineering problems and escalating or resolving any differences, errors, or technical problems for appropriate resolution.
- Assist with development and scoping of large-size, multi-phase, and/or more complex drafting and design support projects.
- Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams in executing project work, including project budgets, tracking hours and expenses, and task completion.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines and project-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of any data collection, database, documentation, and the management of a digital library of drafting and design support documents in various file types.
- Assure plans adhere to city code, state and federal regulations.
- Apply analytical techniques and software to solve more larger-scale and complex engineering issues on projects, or to modify or redesign existing designs in accordance with project standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, communities, subcontractors, and technical staff in a confident and professional manner.
- Develop a client base for providing high level drafting and design support services including identifying additional business development opportunities and engaging in proposal writing and submission.
- Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development.
- Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.
- Remain current in latest drafting and design support practices, methods, procedures, subject matter, and techniques.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in closely related discipline (or equivalent experience.)
- 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in discipline with prio
