Junior Accountant

The Junior Accountant work closely and collaborate with the District Accountant, Financial Analyst/Consultant and Auditors. The Junior Accountant help in the development, implementation, maintenance and operation of a governmental fund accounting system specific to the needs of the Tolomato Community Development District.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Help in maintaining and compiling financial reports and statements in compliance with government regulations and requirements. The Junior Accountant will :
1. Help manage general ledger accounts.
2. Work closely with the Accounting Manager in updating Financial Statements
3. Post Journal entries
4. Prepare check registers and present to the Board of Supervisors for approval or ratification. Checks are to be processed based upon budgeted expenses of the District.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including cash receipts and reconciliations.
• Monthly Sales Tax computation and remittance
• File and process Form 1099’s
• Manage and provide backup for the processing of payroll for employees including quarterly and yearly governmental reports (941s, RT6, W2, W3)
• Work closely with the District Accountant in preparing monthly financial and supplemental reports to be included in the monthly Agenda package.
• Other duties as assigned by the District Accountant and General Manager.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a similar field.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• An interest in finance.
• Strong mathematical aptitude with the ability to analyze and interpret numerical data.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and the ability to learn new programs.
• Sharp analytical skills.
