About the role
This Assistant Actuary position is primarily responsible for Actuarial development and maintenance of Chubb Multinational Pricing systems. The role is based in our Philadelphia, PA office and reports to the Lead Actuary for the Chubb Multinational Actuarial team. There is flexibility to fill this position at a lower job grade for a qualified candidate with less experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Working with Underwriting to determine needed requirements.
- Working with IT support to design specifications.
- Management of offshore IT resources in support of actuarial processes.
- Development of rating algorithms to support pricing benchmarks.
- Actuarial support for pricing system enhancement testing and Help Desk response.
- Work on other projects as requested or identified.
Requirements:
- BS degree or higher in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field
- ACAS or higher preferred, or equivalent industry qualifications. We recognize alternative paths to gaining expertise, so if you have different certifications or relevant qualifications, we are open to considering them.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SQL, R-Studio, Python, and/or other MS Office applications a plus
- 6+ years’ experience with a property and casualty insurer or in a consulting role; recent, meaningful pricing experience
- Ability to work effectively with other disciplines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with system design and workflow a plus.
