POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Educator will play a key role in developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs aimed at enhancing the clinical knowledge and competencies of nursing staff. This position is responsible for fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes professional development and excellence in care. Additionally, the Clinical Educator will serve as the lead clinical facilitator for the onboarding and orientation of newly hired staff, while also providing ongoing guidance and support as a clinical resource.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Service

• Clinical Excellence
o Lead initiatives that support clinical competency validation and ongoing skill development.
o Integrate clinical performance data into educational planning to improve care delivery.
o Support the implementation of clinical innovations and practice changes through education.
o Promote the use of clinical guidelines and protocols to standardize and elevate care.
o Promote a culture of lifelong learning and professional development across the organization.
o Participate in strategic planning to align educational initiatives with organizational goals.
o Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and leadership to ensure alignment of practice and education.
o Conduct needs assessments to identify areas of improvement in clinical practice, ensuring that the educational programs meet the specific needs of nursing staff and address gaps in clinical competencies.
o Facilitate interprofessional collaboration to enhance team-based care and service delivery.
o Design, develop, and deliver evidence-based educational programs that meet the needs of various learning styles.
o Continuously assess the effectiveness of educational initiatives through learner feedback, outcome measures, and performance data.
• Patient Experience and Advocacy
o Advocate for patient-centered care through staff education and role modeling.
o Educate staff on communication strategies that enhance patient satisfaction and trust.
o Promote cultural competence and health equity through targeted educational initiatives.
o Support initiatives that empower patients and families in the care process.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance
o Ensures all activities adhere to healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
o Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
o Promotes a culture of patient safety which results in the identification and reduction of unsafe practices.
o Collaborate with quality and risk management teams to address performance gaps through education.
o Ensure documentation of educational activities meets accreditation and audit standards.
o Participate in root cause analyses and use findings to inform educational interventions.
o Monitor compliance with mandatory training and regulatory updates.
• Professional Growth and Continuing Education
o Completes annual education requirements.
o Maintains competency, as evidenced by completion of competency validation requirements.
o Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments.
o Participates in relevant workshops, seminars, and continuing education courses to stay current with industry trends, healthcare regulations, and best practices.
