To strengthen our Meyercord Revenue team, we are looking for a

 

                                                                                                                    Finishing / Support Operator

 

 

ROLE

 

You will be responsible for supporting Finishing / Print Operations at Meyercord Revenue, Carol Stream IL.  You will be responsible for the following tasks: 

 

  • Accurately sets up, operates, and performs basic adjustments for basic production machines (rewind machines, numbering and coding machines and industrial shredders). Performs basic adjustments.
  • Packs the products for rewind and diecut operations. Inspects work in process for required quality standards.
  • Meet safety, quality, quantity, spoilage, and delivery requirements.
  • Assisting in the ink room and supporting pressroom as needed.

 

 

PROFILE

 

  • Read and follow various written instruction (machine schedules, work orders, operating instructions, etc.) to produce scheduled work and meet scrap, quality, safety, quantity, and other production goals.
  •  Accurately set up and operate basic rewind, numbering, coding and shredding equipment. This includes moving WIP, loading materials, setting basic alignments, tension, and splicing. Machine set ups mainly involve basic manual adjustments and computer entry based on chart information.
  • Operate equipment properly, making in-process basic manual adjustments to sensors or tension, requiring some judgment and process knowledge based on visual inspection of product. Inspect for product issues/defects, proper cuts, etc. Recognize basic printing defects such as missing print and smears, missing numbers, registration problems. Make a note of defect codes from chart on roll and release to Packer when required. See supervisor if necessary.
  • Perform repetitive packing of rolls for rewind and diecutter machines into boxes which includes taping, labeling, weighing and boxing, and packaging. Enter roll data into computer (serial #, defect codes, item codes, etc.).
  • Operate a pallet jack to move skids as required.
  • Enter production data into computer and complete worksheets which require basic math and calculator use.
  • Follow ink recipe cards for ink mixing.
  • Follow all safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Able to use computers, tape dispensers, thermal label printers, digital scales, pallet jacks, calculators, and boxcutter/razor blade. 
  • Able to use solvent based inks (MEK and acetone) to fill fluids on numbering and coding machine.
  • Able to use squirt bottles filled with solvents.
  • Able to operator a Shredder 
  • Must be able to Lift 40-50 lbs occasionally, 20 – 25 lbs frequently.
  • Safety glasses required in plant, hearing protection required for shredding.
  • Ability to stand for long periods at a time and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to follow ink recipe to mix ink for print production.
