About the role

Job Description

The Assistant Director of Employer Relations & Recruiting is primarily responsible for engaging and retaining employer partners that offer potential employment and internship opportunities for graduate business students at the Owen Graduate School of Management (OGSM), including those in the MBA, MS Finance, Master of Marketing, Master of Data Science, and Master of Accountancy programs.

This role serves as a key point of contact and account manager for approximately 500+ employer partners, collaborating closely with them to develop tailored recruiting and engagement strategies while ensuring excellence in recruiting operations and execution.

As a member of the Employer Relations and Recruiting team, the Assistant Director supports OGSM’s mission by working with employers to connect them with top talent and by contributing to the career development of our students. This includes partnering with students to help them define career goals and build a strong portfolio of skills and experiences that lead to successful career outcomes.

  Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as an ongoing contact and account manager between OGSM and recruiting partner companies to formulate individual company recruiting and engagement strategies.
  • Facilitate on-campus recruiting event scheduling.
  • Schedule and coordinate the logistics of recruiting events including employer information sessions, employer campus visits, employer office hours, employer case competitions and job interview schedules.
  • Manage and maintain employer contacts, job postings, on campus interview schedules, employer information sessions and other career related workshops and events.
  • Collaborate with 10-15 student workers who serve as hosts for on-campus recruiting partners during their campus visits.
  • Analyze and report recruiting trends to employer partners.
  • Create and disseminate bi-weekly newsletter for internal key stakeholders.
  • Create marketing materials and digital marketing content for on-campus recruiting and CMC events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Relationships

This position does not have supervisory responsibility; this position reports administratively and functionally to the Director of Employer Relations & Recruiting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s level degree in higher education preferred.
  • Desirable to have 2-3 years of higher education experience or corporate HR and/or recruiting. If you come from a different field, please share your transferable skills in cover letter.
  • Strong technical skills set, specifically in Microsoft products and databases.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure, flexibility with changing demands, timelines, information and priorities.
  • Technical acumen and the ability to implement and adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to deliver timely results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills, team orientation, professional demeanor.
  • Detailed oriented, able to set and manage priorities; ability to respond promptly to employer, student and staff communication, requests, initiatives, and issues. Proactive and solution oriented.
  • Self-managing; self-motivated; manages time, activities and outcomes well so that progress stays on track.
