Job Profile Summary:  Restoration Project Manager


This is a field based position on the Natural Resources Management projects, which may include assessing vegetation near utility infrastructures and  utility access easements. Serve as communications liaison among other leaders, other groups, and own work group. Act as the technical consultant to customer or other contractor as required.

Working Conditions:

  • 80% or more outdoors in various climate conditions
  • Kneeling, crawling - occasional: sitting, standing, bending [waist], squatting, climbing
  • Lifting and carrying – Constantly: 0-10 lbs.; occasional: 11-45 lbs.; occasional: 50-75 lbs.; never 76-100
  • Carrying – Constantly: 0-10 lbs.; occasional: 11-45 lbs.; occasional: 50-75 lbs.; never 76-100
  • Heaviest item carried: Handheld computer weighing up to 2.5 lbs. and/or maps with a clip board. 5-gallon Water packs are standard issue PPE for use in fire suppression and would only be used in an emergency. Distance to be carried: Items are carried the entire time employees are walking in the field

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Enhance safe work practices in the programs by providing periodic instruction and observation.
  • Work directly with the utility customer to achieve program goals
  • Field work that includes evaluating vegetation around utility infrastructure and/or evaluating condition of utility access roads
  • Responding to utility customer requests and providing photos, assessments, and data on project work
  • Package and facilitate work with third party contractors
  • Analyze operations to evaluate and identify areas of cost reduction and program improvement,
  • Promote customer satisfaction by providing an effective interface with internal and external customers, establishing reasonable expectations up front, and then meeting expectations.
  • As requested by Manager, performs all necessary duties for emergency response in accordance with all safety requirements, law and regulations, and applicable labor agreements.
  • Adheres to personal appearance standards and makes a positive personal impression on others. Adheres to attendance policies and faithful in coming when scheduled and conforms to work hour requirements.
  • Conducts work in a safety-conscious manner as not to endanger themselves or others. Keeps the work area [office and/or company vehicle] neat, orderly, and professional in appearance. If applicable, ensures maintenance on company vehicles is done in a timely and efficient manner.

Equipment, Environmental and Safety Requirements:

  • Frequent driving through service territory and overnight travel
  • Extensive walking/hiking on uneven ground
  • Exposure to excessive noise
  • Exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity, or wetness
  • Possible risk and hazardous exposure
  • Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement
  • Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, chemicals
  • Various forestry-related equipment, including but not limited to clinometer, range finder, logger’s tape, DBH tape and other safety-related equipment such as hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 2- or 4-year degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Environmental Studies or related field
  • AND/OR at least 1 years’ experience in related field (Forestry, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Environmental Studies, Conservation, Natural Resources, or related fields)
  • ISA Certification and/or ISA Certified Utility Specialist Desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook] or similar software suite
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Minimum age of 21
