Job Description
NBCUniversal has an opportunity for a talented individual to join their dynamic Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Team working in close partnership with the Business Continuity & Crisis Management team. The purpose of this position is to support overall EHS program implementation with an emphasis on the Telemundo Enterprises division. The successful candidate will also be primary for ensuring that applicable EHS training is made available, new training is developed as needed, manage training systems to support internal clients, and facilitate training between third party software platforms and internal clients. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge, self-motivation qualities and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Promotes a culture of safety and raising safety awareness at Telemundo Center and while on field/off site productions
- Manages Miami-based EHS team and supports international Telemundo teams as necessary
- Maintains expert knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and, consensus standards, and compiles periodic reports as required by regulatory organizations and/or NBCU Corporate EHS
- Assists with continual development of EHS program, policies, audits, and additional tools to help the Telemundo teams manage local EHS compliance aligned with local regulatory requirements and Corporate EHS standards
- Assists sites in the preparation for EHS audits and self-assessments and audit closure
- Provides timely EHS reports and compliance metrics to management as required
- Uses internal electronic system to maintain NBCUniversal EHS Management Systems, conduct injury/illness investigations, etc.
- Assists with maintaining the quality and accuracy of templates, training presentations, and various EHS procedure documentation to ensure accurate and consistent information is available to staff
- Responsible for collaborating with internal clients and external vendors regarding the management of NBCUniversal’s training assignments
- Coordinates specialized training including third party EHS software platforms used across the company.
- Provides on-site assistance with operations and EHS related issues
- Liaises with governmental regulators where & when appropriate
- Reviews incident investigations with appropriate personnel and ensure reports are filed in accordance with local regulatory requirements
- Participates and/or leads committees and work groups tasked with matters related to operational compliance for EHS
- Ensures all related permits and licenses are up to date; ensures regulatory compliance; advises and makes appropriate notifications regarding hazards and recommended corrective actions.
- Fosters long-term, cooperative working relationships with key production stakeholders
- Partners closely and effectively with production, legal, studio operations, scenery, and other NBCU EHS teams to develop and reinforce safety standards for operations in all locations
- Works under the direct supervision of VP, Operations & Facilities and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by Manager or Supervisor as needed
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of Health & Safety compliance program experience
- Proven experience in implementing EHS programs
- Proven intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 & associated tools
- Must be fully fluent in English (both written & verbal)
- Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time
- Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions
