Job Description

  • Performs nursing assessments utilizing a variety of assessment methods and area-specific tools within the Pulmonary/Gen. Med. department.
  • Develops and individualizes existing plans of care and institutes goals relative to family needs while evaluating and documenting all changes to care plans.
  • Develops and individualizes teaching plans and protocols to meet patient and family learning needs while motivating and identifying patient preferences.
  • Anticipates impending emergent situations and intervenes effectively.
  • Communicates changes in patient status. Utilizes appropriate resources for referral or consultations.
  • Adheres to communication and professional image standards that support the hospital mission and philosophy by performing job functions with customer service focus and teamwork to provide the highest quality care to our patients and their families.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and competency of protocols related to the use of chemical disinfection, high level disinfection, and sterilization.
  • Additional tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred, ASN accepted if willing to obtain BSN within 2 years of start date
  • Current licensure as an RN in the State of Illinois.
  • Basic Life Support certification through AHA.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patient/families, physicians and hospital staff.
  • One year of Pediatric, General Medicine, Med. Surg. experience preferred. Other comparable experience will be considered.

Bachelor's Degree: Nursing (Required)

Pay Range

$37.00-$61.05 Hourly
